I didn’t anticipate much in terms of storyline, considering it was from extreme action director Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious and XXX). I would expect speed and lots of blowing. And yes, the movie started with bombing, went on with more blowing, and ended off with flames.
The story seems predictable. A group of top-trained fighter pilots (Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx) find themselves saddled with a terrifying mission. When a drone bomber with artificial intelligence is being tested, it turns rogue, and could start a war if the pilot team can't stop it.
Interestingly, as I am teaching stereotypes this week, Stealth has stereotypes plastered all over. 2 whites, 1 black and other minority races - Lots of political inferences involved.
Leaving some of the lame parts aside, Stealth is still entertainment. It’s actually quite heart-pumping and adrenalin-rushing towards the end. Knowing what Singaporeans love, this will be box office Number 1.
Stealth - Burn, Blast, Bomb!
